Welcome back to another edition of Saturday Spotlight, where we highlight tomorrow’s stars. Every week we receive a large number of submissions submitted by artists, producers, and singers — the number was 83 this week. Our mission is to provide a platform for the talent we believe will push the envelope and take Hip-Hop/R&B to its next step in evolution.
Remember that you can submit music to us for Saturday Spotlight on this link.
Ron Suno
Introducing first, Ron Suno — Bronx’s response to the Drill movement in Brooklyn. On his latest single, “Bandit”, he’s not looking for validation from his NYC peers, he’s looking to take over the graffiti-covered throne and title of King of New York. The hoarse, Baroque vocals from Suno saturates his verses like a slab of butter on a Ribeye steak. The production on “Bandit” makes it impossible to not two-step to, with a rhythm that completely compliments the Bronx-bred rapper. Ron Suno is not only one of the brightest, emerging acts out of NYC with a comedic angle to his personality — he’s one of the most exciting. Check out his new single below:
Y.V.R
Coming next is Y.V.R (Young Visionary Rappers), the duo of YVRMitch and YVRRye out of Vancouver, Canada. The music is self-produced from YVRMitch, and the duo provides melodies as smooth as silk. On their latest single, “Her Own” they put the magic of melody to the test with simplistic guitar strings on the production which adds to the dream-state aesthetic that’s vibrant across the track. The duo shares perfect chemistry, with softened, soulful singing that almost sounds like confessional whispers to a lover. Check out their latest single below:

Through our artist discovery platform Saturday Spotlight, we have discovered some amazing talent in the past including Russ, Ty Dolla Sign, Mez, IDK, Victoria Monét and Trap Beckham to name just a few. In most cases, coverage on HHNM was their first look among media outlets. Find the submission guidelines here.
