Royce 5’9″ Releases Lupe Fiasco Response Song ‘Silence Of The Lambda’

UPDATE: Royce has put the song out early in the morning.

Previous story:

This situation between Lupe Fiasco and Royce 5’9″ kind of came out of nowhere and has been a surprise to most. Essentially, when Nickel brought up the question of who was the best rapper out in response to RJ Payne’s tweet, Lupe told him he didn’t think he was the best. Things kind of escalated from there and it was a joke until it wasn’t. About a week ago, the pair exchanged some heated words on Instagram Live with Mickey Factz, Young Guru, Loaded Lux and Murda Mook. You can check that out here.

Royce said that night that regardless of what happened next, he was going to come out with a song and it looks like he’s keeping his promise. The Detroit legend has taken to Instagram to post the artwork for a new song of his called ‘Silence Of The Lambda’. It’s produced by frequent collaborator Carlos Broady, better known as Six July. The logo in the centre of it is from Revenge Of The Nerds, which is also of course the name of Lupe’s classic mixtape series. Apparently, Royce also went on Instagram Live and talked about the song. There, it was supposedly revealed that the song is 7 minutes long.

Check out the announcement below. We can’t wait to see where this goes, as long as it stays on wax. Hopefully the podcast can remain intact too.
