A Valentine’s Day special VERZUZ took place between Musiq Soulchild and Anthony Hamilton at Avalon Hollywood on Tuesday night.
It was previously announced that the latest VERZUZ wouldn’t be streamed live on Instagram which had a very negative reaction from fans on social media. The decision was later reversed with Swizz Beatz clarifying that Instagram will be hosting the event for free. “I was out the country don’t ask me who did it, it’s fixed, bless up, love y’all,” he said.
The two singers who came up around the same era performed their love songs in the battle and it was quite difficult for fans to decide who really won. Anthony Hamilton played songs like ‘Mama Knew Love’, ‘Comin’ From Where I’m From’, ‘I’m a Mess’, ‘Since I Seen’t You’, ‘Giving You The Best of Me’, ‘The Point of it All’, ‘Can’t Let Go’, ‘Her Heart’, ‘Po’ Folks’, ‘So In Love’, ‘U Know What’s Up’ (performed by Donell Jones, written by Anthony), ‘Cool’, ‘You Made A Fool of Me’, ‘Charlene’ and more while Musiq competed with ‘Coming To Break You Off’, ‘Mary Go Round’, ‘Forthenight’, ‘Ah Yeah’, ‘Dontchange’, ‘Yes’, ‘L is Gone’, ‘Halfcrazy’, ‘Just Friends (Sunny), ‘ifuleave’ (with Mary J. Blige’ and more.
