Drake-Executive Produced Series ‘Saint X’ Coming to Hulu Next Month

Drake is continuing to make in roads into TV with another venture called Saint X.

Hulu has announced that their eight-part psychological drama series will premiere on their service on Wednesday, April 26th. The first three episodes of the show will be available to watch on that date, while the remaining five episodes will be released on a weekly basis.

Saint X, written by Leila Gerstein and based on a book by Alexis Schaitkin, tells its story from many points in time and viewpoints. It is a story of how a young woman’s mystery death while on a dreamy Caribbean holiday has a devastating knock-on effect that eventually leads to her surviving sister’s risky quest for the truth.

Drake and his longtime manager Adel “Future” Nur serve as executive producers on the series alongside Gerstein and Dee Rees who is directing. Stephen Williams will also executive produce with David Levine and Zack Hayden for Anonymous Content.

Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Hill House) was originally set to star in the series but after Pedretti left the project over “creative differences”, she was replaced by Alycia Debnam-Carey of Fear the Walking Dead.

She joins a cast that includes West Duchovny as Alison, “a smart and charismatic young woman who is beginning to look at her own privilege through a critical lens as she vacations with her family at a beautiful island resort”; Josh Bonzie as Clive ‘Gogo’ Richardson, “who we meet as a shy and clumsy but warm-hearted 20-year old, and again decades later as a hardened, changed man”; and Jayden Elijah as Edwin, “a handsome and magnetically charming employee at the island’s resort who immediately captures Alison’s attention. He harbors a healthy distrust of the rich white people he’s paid to serve and dreams of one day leaving the island for New York.”
