Top Dawg Says Black Hippy “Owes” Fans A Project

Fans have been waiting for a project from Black Hippy since forever.

The supergroup, made of rappers Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul, were last heard together on a track in 2016, for ScHoolboy Q’s ‘That Part’ remix. Since then, none of them have delivered music consistently, even on a solo level.

On Monday, TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith took to Twitter to answer some questions for fans and during a conversation, said something interesting about the group. When the fan asked if we will ever get a Black Hippy remix, Top Dawg responded: “I think they we [sic] will…..they owe y’all an album or EP.”

When another user responded “don’t give us hope man,” he replied that he hopes “for shit everyday.”

He also responded to another question about who all is expected to drop new music from the roster in 2023. He said: “Reason, [Ray Vaughn], Doechii, [Schoolboy] Q, Jay Rock, [Zacari] and a compilation..if everybody do their part. When they turn them in I will release em.”
