Ashanti & Nelly Reportedly Expecting First Child Together

Nelly and Ashanti are expecting their first child together.

Several videos from Nelly’s Black & White Charity Ball 2023 in St. Louis went viral where Ashanti was seen by fans putting her hand on her stomach while on stage with Nelly. The rapper did the same and the couple broke into laughter in front people present, seemingly hinting that they are expanding their family.

They dated from the time they first got together in 2003 until their breakup in 2013. Following their reunion during Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s Verzuz battle in 2021, the two musicians have grown closer. Before confirming their reconciliation in September, the pair was seen out together on a few occasions.

US Weekly reports citing sources that the two are in fact pregnant. “Nelly and Ashanti are welcoming their first baby together,” the source says. The baby will be Ashanti’s only child, while Nelly, 49, shares daughter Chanelle, 29, and son Cornell Haynes III, 24, with ex Channetta Valentine.

“We’re in a great place,” Ashanti said on the red carpet at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. “I think it’s pretty obvious. Yeah, we’re together.”
