Jay-Z Speaks on Meek Mill’s Prison Sentence At Dallas Tour Stop

Jay-Z has already spoken about his displeasure with Meek Mill’s recent sentencing via a note but during last night’s 4:44 tour stop in Dallas, he interrupted his show to address the situation once again. Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley cited a failed drug test and a failure to comply with a court order restricting Meek’s travel as her basis for the harsh sentencing of two to four years in jail for probation violation. It has already sparked a lot of protest online.

“I’ve got to say something about a young man by the name of Meek Mill,” Hov said to the crowd at the American Airlines Center during his 4:44 tour date. “He caught a charge when he was, like 19. He’s 30 now, he’s been on probation for 11 years. F*cking 11 years. Judge gave him two to four years because he got arrested for being on a bike and popping a f*cking wheelie.”

Watch the footage below. Yesterday, Meek’s lawyer addressed the harsh punishment, calling it a “travesty of justice.” He also claimed that the judge asked Meek to quit Roc Nation and hire her friend’s management services.
