Young Thug Says He Won’t Release Any Music This Year Out of Respect for Deaf Brother

Young Thug is used to dropping a lot of music for his fans while rest of the days are safely covered by the leaks online. But it appears like Thugger will be taking a break this year.

The Atlanta rapper took part in the New York Fashion Week for Philipp Plein’s Fall/Winter 2018 and VFILES’ seasonal showcases where he did a brief interview with hypebeast. After talking a little bit about fashion, Thug announced that he won’t release any music this year out of respect for his brother who is deaf.

“I got a deaf brother,” he says. “So, I want to act deaf for a year, I ain’t going to put out no music this year. 2019, I’mma probably drop Hi-Tunes,” he continued. Thug’s album (often stylized as “Hy!£UN35”) has been in the works for a few years now but yet to receive an official release date.

Young Thug recently announced that he was changing his name to “SEX” so does this mean he will put out music under that moniker? We’d have to wait and see.
