50 Cent On Empire State Of Mind Remix: “No Comment”

Is there a remix to ‘Empire State Of Mind’ featuring 50 Cent? When asked, he did not say ‘No’. Basically. Ha.

iheartradio: There is a rumor that you’re working on a new collaboration on a new version of “Empire State of Mind” — is it true?

50 Cent: You said it before I did, guess you could say, beat me to it. No further comment.

Above is some footage from the secret show he did at PC Richard and Son Theater in TriBeCa, New York yesterday. Hit the jump for the full interview.

iheartradio: You were seriously hurt, how did that experience affect you?

50 Cent: Fear consumes you or you become hardened—I changed afterwards, the experience made me accept that I’m not in control. When it comes to all that, it’s better to give than to receive, if you know what I mean.

iheartradio: Who are your favorite tough guys?

50 Cent: Oh, that’s easy! Eric Roberts and Mickey Rourke in the wrestler—Damn I love that guy, I’ve watched that a million times.

iheartradio: So, what’s up with you and Jay-Z?

50 Cent: Men lie, women lie. Numbers tell the truth. My success is proven in my record sales.

iheartradio: You have some well-publicized conflicts with others, Rick Ross for instance, do you ever think about making peace?

50 Cent: I had a hard time growing up, anyone who knows me can gauge how different that makes me and how that affects me and they don’t test it—they understand the consequences… If I put the beef down and compromised on what I believe, what would I gain?

iheartradio: What does music making mean to you now?

50 Cent: I’m always working to match that intensity of my first recordings, I want to convey my passions and express a deeper connection to the things I’m excited by. I’m always striving to recreate that first rush…

iheartradio: What do you love most about your work?

50 Cent: I love the diversity, learning people. Being surrounded by folks from all walks of life. Understanding the differences. When anyone first starts out they are influenced strongly by those around them, as you go along you develop clear opinions of your own and it becomes less of a conversation, you tend to listen to yourself more. I’m looking for the balance.
