Timbaland & Missy Elliott Not Participating In Posthumous Aaliyah Album

Details regarding the posthumous Aaliyah album get more confusing everyday. A few days ago, Blackground Records’ Jomo Hankerson told Billboard that Missy and Timbaland will “definitely be involved” in the planned posthumous album that Drake and 40 are set to executive produce. But today, Missy Elliott’s long time manager Mona Scott-Young has denied the same in a statement to the media.

“Although Missy and Timbaland always strive to keep the memory of their close friend alive, we have not been contacted about the project nor are there any plans at this time to participate. We’ve seen the reports surfacing that they have been confirmed to participate but that is not the case. Both Missy and Timbaland are very sensitive to the loss still being felt by the family so we wanted to clear up any misinformation being circulated.”

It will be interesting to see how things shape up from here on but in the meantime, you can listen to the first single featuring Drake ‘Enough Said’ here.
