Mazaradi Fox, 42, whose real name is Jamal Green, was shot and killed this evening in Queens, New York. Fox was a friend and former affiliate of 50 Cent in the early days of G-Unit. He was released on December 20th after 2 years in prison for attempted assault.
According to the Police (via NY Daily News), Fox was killed by a gunman in a black ski mask when he opened fire at the white SUV that the rapper was in, at the corner of Farmers Blvd. and 133rd Ave. He stumbled out of the SUV and collapsed in a nearby driveway. Three other people in the SUV were wounded, including a 22-year-old man who was in critical condition. A second 22-year-old man was wounded in the arm, and the fourth victim, a woman in her 20s, suffered a graze wound to the neck.
Fox’s step-daughter D’Aja Robinson was shot dead while riding on a city bus through Jamaica in May this year.
A rep for 50 Cent released the following statement:
“We’re sorry to hear about the tragic news. Our sympathy goes out to his family and friends. Despite reports, he was never on the G-Unit record label. 50 Cent was in his New York studio and was saddened when he heard the news. He sends his condolences to Mazaradi’s family.
Saddened by the news of Mazaradi’s tragic passing my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends #smsaudio
