Jay Z Freestyle At B-Sides Concert In NY (Video)

The highly anticipated B-Sides concert by Jay Z just concluded at Terminal 5 in New York which was live streamed on his own streaming service Tidal (you can watch a re-stream here without an account).

Hov’s set list was mainly made up of non-singles and songs he had never performed live before. He even brought out special guests like State Property (reunion!), Jay Electronica and Jeezy.

But the breaking moment was a rare freestyle that he spit live on the stage where he mentioned Spotify, Steve Jobs, Freddie Gray, YouTube and more. Watch it below.

Another interesting thing we noticed: The official poster from Tidal has Jay Z’s name stylized with a “hyphen” and even umlauts like back in the day (see it below). If you remember correctly, Jay had officially dropped both from his name a few years ago. He had later talked about it in an interview with Big Boy on Power 106:

“That was like 3 years ago, I don’t know how that story resurfaced, but I guess it was a slow news day. The hyphen was really big back in the day. It’s not useful anymore. I had umlauts over one of the letters, I removed that too.”
