There’s been some Twitter drama going on.
The MTV VMA nominations were recently announced and Nicki Minaj wasn’t too happy about not receiving a nomination for the VOTY category which Kendrick Lamar, Mark Ronson, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran all have spots in. Nicki feels that both her ‘Anaconda’ video and ‘Feeling Myself’ video deserved a look.
She spoke out against MTV on Twitter, claiming that if she was a different “kind” of artist, she’d have been nominated. She even said that “when the “other” girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination”, clearly referring to Beyoncé and/or Taylor.
Taylor Swift responded to Nicki, saying that she’s “done nothing but love and support” Nicki and that Nicki should come on stage with her to collect the award if she wins. What you might find more interesting is that Taylor unfollowed Nicki on Twitter during this little argument
