50 Cent’s Street King Immortal album has seen a lot of delays in the past few years. It was originally announced around 2011 but even 5 years later, fans are still waiting on the album to hit stores. Although 50 has put out an indie project in between — Animal Ambition in 2014, a proper studio album is what we are hoping to hear in the near future.
50 hasn’t had a bad year with music. His single ‘I’m The Man’ ended up being a slow burner and despite a big section of industry and media folks denying it, the song managed to get a Gold certification from RIAA and helped 50 get some traction in the clubs during his Effen promo run.
The G-Unit General is on the latest cover of Muscle & Fitness magazine where he has also done an interview talking about success of Power, how he has never received awards throughout his career, his workout routines and more.
50 has also addressed the delay behind SKI (Street King Immortal) and much to our surprise, hinted that it will be his last album. “I don’t want to write another record after that,” says 50 who left Interscope Records after his fourth album, Before I Self Destruct.
The release of your Street King Immortal album has been delayed since 2011. What’s the holdup?
I want to finish with that project. I don’t want to write another record after that. You know how some artists got to have confirmation that they’re right. I have that confirmation in f*cking 35, 40 million [albums] that I already sold.
