UPDATE: Kendrick has moved 325k copies in the first week which is pretty much in line with my prediction (see below).

Previous story:
Kendrick Lamar released his surprise album GNX this past Friday without any notice at all.
What’s different about this album is that it’s the first time Kendrick hasn’t gone for a proper concept or theme throughout the LP. To some fans, it feels more like a mixtape. Today, we have the first week sales projections for GNX with HDD reporting that it will move about 290k copies in the first week. The album is set to do about 325 million in streaming activity while rest of the sales will come through digital downloads.
This will mark Kendrick’s 4th consecutive number 1 album. The album is now also available to order in CD and Vinyl formats here. Kendrick dropped the music video for the standout track ‘Squabble Up’ the other day.
