Kanye West & Kid Cudi Reportedly Recording Secret Joint Project in Japan

Last week, some photos of Kanye West and Kid Cudi together in Japan with artist Takashi Murakami surfaced. The artist thanked the two on his Instagram for coming to his studio. It was a big revelation as Takashi is the man who created the artwork for Kanye’s third album Graduation back in 2007. Director Coodie was also along with the three and teased that something will be released on December 31st.

This led to speculations that this could be about music. Page Six has now got hold of some extra bit of information on the collaboration and looks like there is music involved indeed. According to an insider, the two are secretly recording a joint project in Japan. “They’re going to drop some crazy collaboration out of the blue,” the insider said. “They’re going to drop some surprise project on everybody. They’re recording it now. They’re keeping the lid so tight that nobody knows what it is — or what it sounds like.. There are no professionals in the room. It’s just Cudi, Kanye and an engineer. They’re recording together in Japan.”

Kanye West and Kid Cudi were involved in social media beef when Cudder dissed West on Twitter, and West responded on his Saint Pablo tour by saying “I birthed you, I’m so hurt. I feel so disrespected. Kid Cudi, we’re two black men in a racist world.” The two former label mates had made up later after Kanye called his ex-protege one of the most influential artists of last ten years. Back in July, the two rappers were spotted together in L.A. with producer Plain Pat.

Let’s see what the two cook up and the rollout they do for this much anticipated project.
