The much awaited new single from Taylor Swift is here. The singer has debuted ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, a definite Pop tune that is sure to have theories run wild. The song serves as the first single from her forthcoming sixth studio album, Reputation and has been released independently via her own Big Machine Label Group.
“I don’t like your little games/ I don’t like your tilted stage,” sings Swift, throwing shots at Kanye’s tilted stage was used during his famous Saint Pablo tour run last year. “The role you made me play of the fool/ No, I don’t like you,” she continues.
It goes even further from there at one point. “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now,” she says towards the end of the song. “Why?/ ‘Cause she’s dead.” This is a definite reference to Swift’s long running beef with Kanye West which was revived last year over the lyrics on his song ‘Famous’. Ye’s accompanying video featured Swift’s likeness naked in bed along with other celebrities like Chris Brown, Amber Rose and more. Taylor had denied that ‘Ye ever took permission from her for the questionable “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that bitch famous” line.
Kim Kardashian later leaked audio of her husband and Swift’s phone conversation, where Taylor seemed to have approved of West’s lyrics in private. Listen to the new song below.
Reputation is set to be released on November 10th. She has partnered with Target to release two 72-page magazines alongside the album that will include “personal poetry and photos, artwork by Taylor, handwritten lyrics and photos from the ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ video shoot.
