Nelly Booked & Released on Rape Charges; Rapper Reacts to Incident

 

Nelly has been arrested on alleged rape charges. A woman has claimed that she was raped on the rapper’s tour bus in Washington where he’s been performing as part of tour with Country-Pop duo Florida Georgia Line.

Nelly’s next tour stop is Saturday night at Ridgefield, Washington. The alleged rape occurred Saturday morning at around 3:45 am and he’s been arrested on second degree rape charges, reports TMZ. He is currently in Police custody. Stay tuned for more updates.

UPDATE: Nelly’s lawyer has issued this statement in his defense:

“Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”

UPDATE 2: Nelly has addressed the incident. He has been booked and released without being charged.
