Drake’s ‘God’s Plan’ Released As Official Single

When Drake debuts new music, it’s usually an event. And he achieved the same momentum when he released two songs, ‘God’s Plan’ and ‘Diplomatic Immunity’ the other day as part of the Scary Hours EP.

On Monday, Drizzy set the all time Spotify record for most streams in a single day with ‘God’s Plan’. It was played 4,326,679 times in the U.S. alone, and is currently also the number 1 song on Apple Music. The Toronto superstar is used to breaking records. Last year, More Life was streamed a shopping 61.3 million times on the service on the day of release, breaking the previous one day streams record set by Ed Sheeran’s recent release, Divide.

HHNM has also learned that ‘God’s Plan’ is being treated as an official single by Drake and his labels. According to the radio stats released earlier today, it is the most added song on Rhythmic radio with 45 stations adding it to their playlist. It is also the second most added song on Urban format with 49 adds, just behind Remy & Chris Brown’s ‘Melanin Magic (Pretty Brown)‘.

Though it has received the single treatment, it is yet to be confirmed whether it will serve as the first single from his upcoming album or just a warm up for the new era. Either way, the wins don’t stop for Drizzy.
