After keeping himself away from the spotlight for weeks, Trey Songz has surrendered himself to LAPD on felony domestic violence charges early Monday morning. The news comes shortly after the singer released a statement on Twitter about the controversy.
For weeks my lawyers & Mgmt have asked me not to comment on this and I initially agreed but this morning I feel that my fam, the women that raised me, my friends & fans especially the youth need to hear from me. I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain

Trey is being accused of choking and punching a lady named Andrea Buera (pictured below) at a Hollywood Hills party last month around the All-Star weekend but the singer maintains that he is “being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.” TMZ reports that he was booked around 6 am and released at 8 am on a $50k bond. The investigation will go on.
Buera claims that she was hit so badly at the party that she suffered a concussion and had to to be rushed to the hospital for treatment. Stay tuned for more updates on the story.
