In the streaming era, records are being broken every other week which is not surprising, as the consumer base for these services continues to grow worldwide.
It is also not surprising that Post Malone’s new album beerbongs & bentleys is starting off massive. The singer-rapper’s new set, which features the hit singles ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Psycho’, has broken the record for the biggest opening day on Spotify with 47.9 million streams in the U.S. alone. That is approximately 11 million more than J. Cole who scored the record just last week on the service with his latest album KOD.

U.S. is not the only market Post is dominating. He has also broken the same record for worldwide streams at 78.7 million. That is a testament of the fact that his popularity is blowing up internationally as well. We are expecting the album to have one of the biggest opening weeks of 2018 overall on Soundscan this week. Apart from 21 Savage and Ty Dolla Sign, beerbongs & bentleys also features Nicki Minaj, G-Eazy, Swae Lee and YG.
