DMX’s new album is certainly shaping up to be a big one.
Last week, the veteran rapper revealed that he’s got a posthumous song with Pop Smoke on his forthcoming album, apart from contributions from “the Griselda Boys.” The full Drink Champs podcast with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN has now been released where X also spoke on the other features on the long awaited project and a whole lot more.
The multi platinum selling rapper confirmed the September 2019 report that he has re-signed with Def Jam. He then spoke about collaborating with the likes of Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Alicia Keys, The LOX and none other than Bono of U2 on the yet untitled album. Watch the clip below.
“It’s called ‘Letter To My Son'” an excited X said about his song with Usher, revealing that it only had piano on it before he made some changes. “It was just piano on the song, and I never did a song with just one instrument before. It came out crazy, it hits you.”
Talking about how Swizz Beatz is the “magician” who put together most of the collaborations, X said he wants to shoot the “Bono joint” called ‘Skyscrapers’ in Miami. This particular track has been in the making for almost 10 years and leaked in its unfinished form in 2019. DMX also discussed owning 1998 with two hit albums, VERZUZ, Prince, Aaliyah, rare stories and more. Watch the full episode below.
