If you’ve been following the news cycle recently, you’ll know that it’s been a rough time for NBA YoungBoy recently. A month ago, reports came out that he was being investigated by federal investigators based on his arrest along with 15 others. Then, a story came out that he had J. Cole waiting at a studio for 8 hours.
While that was the main takeaway of the story for most, he no-showed Cole because of some personal things going on with him, reportedly. Then, just a couple of days ago, NBA YoungBoy was on Instagram Live talking about “feeling lost,” which scared a lot of fans because he’s been expressive of troubles in his raps.
Unfortunately, the bad news continues tonight.
Earlier today in L.A., the Baton Rouge rapper was arrested due to an outstanding federal warrant. TMZ reports that he attempted to flee the scene but was sniffed out by a K-9. A firearm was found in the vehicle, but it’s unclear whether or not it belongs to him.
We’ll be sure to update you with developing details.
UPDATE: The reasons for the arrest are now getting clearer. The FBI bust was over an arrest that took place 6 months ago in Louisiana over drug and firearm charges.
The rapper has been charged with one count of illegal possession of firearms by a felon, and possession of an unregistered weapon. When the September arrest happened, local law enforcement only hit him with drug charges, and his attorney had denied any of the guns found belonged to the rapper.
