Just a day after Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy alleging years of control, abuse and rape, the pair have come to a settlement.
The New York Times reports that they’ve agreed to settle the case on undisclosed terms. In a statement about this, Cassie expressed her gratitude to friends and family. “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
Diddy came out with his own short statement, saying “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
Douglas Wigdor, Cassie’s lawyer in this matter, said that he’s “very proud of Ms. Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit. She ought to be commended for doing so.”
The settlement might surprise some people, but it means that a lot of evidence doesn’t come into the light on Diddy’s side and most importantly on Cassie’s side, she’s courageously told her story. It’s important that the allegations here aren’t forgotten regardless.
