Kai Cenat Previews Unreleased Drake x Lil Yachty Song, Supposedly Titled ‘Supersoak’: Watch

Kai Cenat, the streaming sensation that’s captivated millions online, recently previewed pretty much an entire Drake x Lil Yachty collaboration— and it’s exactly the vibe you’d want it to be.

The track seems to be titled, ‘Supersoak’, and samples ‘Goodness Gracious’ by Mr. Hotspot, and is a minimalist production piece with fat, single hit 808 bass lines and trap drums. The sonic space isn’t cluttered one bit, and gives ample room to Drake and Yachty to do their thing on it.

Yet again, Drake has taken a lover boy approach over an underwater-feel track, with the high end shaved off the sample in places, making for a sublime and haunting vocal motif. The production is reminiscent of Noah 40’s recognisable style of production, although at this stage we are uncertain about who actually produced it.

There has also been no mention of a release date — but is this really the song Drake was going to put out? Rumours have been in the air about how Drake is going to return with some hard hitting music, but a collaboration with Yachty, while good, is arguably not enough to shake off the aftermath of the Dot vs Drake feud.

That said, Drake seems to be talking from his heart and soul on this one. Bringing in the nostalgia associated with rainy days and talks of staying afloat, all while he references Cleopatra, the pyramids and even Cinderella, is a certainly a nice touch. It’s nothing that Drake’s existing fan base wouldn’t love. As for Yachty, he always brings the new school flavour with sparse syllables littered across his verse, as he tunes his vocals just right to be in tune with feelings put forth by Drake. Let’s wait for the official release!
