Jazz musician Jimmy Smith’s estate is suing Drake for use of the monologue in front of ‘Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2′ without permission. Jimmy is no more but his team has accused that Drizzy used the 35 second clip from from his 1982 song, ‘Jimmy Smith Rap’ without any permission and on top that, lied about it in the Nothing Was The Same album liner notes that it was properly licensed. The defendants are Drake, Cash Money Records and a few others concerned with the recording and the compensation being asked is $300,000.

This year’s Made In America festival will be held in both Philadelphia and L.A. simultaneously during Labor Day weekend of August 30 and 31. There will be a total of 60 performances spread across 6 stages. The lineup is yet to be announced but tickets are available on the official website. Watch a video trailer below.

Not many of us are fans of Diddy’s latest single ‘Big Homie‘ featuring Rick Ross and French Montana and 50 Cent is included in that list. He stopped by Baltimore’s 92 Q Jams radio station recently to promote his latest single ‘Smoke’ and the upcoming album Animal Ambition. When talking about rappers’ expiration dates, 50 gave props to both Jay and Diddy business wise but called Puff’s latest musical release “garbage”.

Forbes is back with its regular list of counting the fortunes of some of Hip-Hop’s wealthiest artists. This time, they throw some shine on the top 5 which is as follows:

1. Diddy $700 million
2. Dr. Dre $550 million
3. Jay Z $520 million
4. Birdman $160 million
5. 50 Cent $140 million

Diddy’s fortune has gained by over $120 million over the past year which is mostly thanks to his profits with Ciroc and continues to grow his business with the launch of REVOLT TV. Jay Z and his wife Beyoncé are planning to go on a 20 date stadium tour in the US, Page Six reports. According to the outlet, the couple will jointly start the trek in June this year but no more details are available yet.

Jay Z finished his 52 dates Magna Carta World Tour in January while Bey wrapped her Mrs. Carter Show world tour in March so it will be interesting to watch how this goes. It will certainly be one hell of a tour if the news turns out to be legitimate.
