HDD is reporting that after solid projections, Joey Bada$$’ debut album B4.DA.$$ has had a very successful first week and managed to push 50,965 copies, sitting comfortably as the #1 Rap album this week. Impressive for an independent artist. Congratulations!

Lupe on the other hand will end up with a disappointing figure of 32,000 for Tetsuo & Youth, something that doesn’t match the quality of the album.

rodeo tour

Back in August, Travis Scott released a free album called Days Before Rodeo which is regarded as one of the best projects of 2014 by many. He has now announced a tour named after his forthcoming debut album Rodeo, kicking off March 1st in Santa Ana, California and finishing off March 31st in Seattle. Supporting him will be Young Thug and Metro Boomin who will entertain the crowd with a DJ set. Peep the full dates on the poster above.

Big Sean has been building up a lot of hype in the last few months with killer verses on tracks like ‘Detroit Vs. Everybody‘ and ‘Do It Again‘. Now, he, DJ Dahi, Roc Nation, DJ Mustard, Travi$ Scott, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Boi-1da have taken to social media to reveal his official album title. Possible collaborations on the LP?

The artwork that came with the announcement follows the same dark theme of the cover for his 4 new songs that he dropped in September, one of which was IDFWU and went on to be a smash. This compliments the fact that Sean said this is his darkest album yet. Finally, Sean also went on to preview a song with Drake he has that will make the cut. Hit the jump to listen.

UPDATE: In a short trailer for the album previewing two instrumentals, Sean has announced that the album will be out on February 24th. Check it out below. Damn, what a difference a year can make.

kanye paul

It looks like Ellen DeGeneres has let the cat out of the bag and to our surprise, it has gone under the radar for most fans.

In a message posted on her official site 3 days ago (that’s like 3 weeks in the internet age), Ellen revealed that Kanye West’s next album is titled Only One — same as the Paul McCarteny featured single he put out on New Year’s eve. The message was written by Ellen to promote the guests on her show this week in celebration of her birthday which is today. Kanye is one of them.

Writes Ellen:

I’m so excited. Monday is my birthday! I’m going to be celebrating all week long.

I’m celebrating with some really wonderful people, too. Kanye West will be here for an exclusive interview! He has a new CD coming out called “Only One.” I hope I can keep it.

UPDATE: False alarm. Kanye’s publicist has confirmed to Billboard that it’s not the title of his album.
