Finally?
Fans have been waiting for Birdman to formally announce the new Rich Gang project for quite some time now, especially after Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug dropped hints about it multiple times during interviews.
Today, the Cash Money head honcho has unveiled the artwork for the project with a message that it will drop this July. The first Rich Gang album was a proper studio release in 2013 featuring plenty of A-listers while Rich Gang: Tha Tour Part 1 was a mixtape from Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan, backed by Birdman.
It isn’t clear which way Rich Gang: The Lifestyle 2 project will go. Perhaps it may only focus on the new signees on Cash Money Records? We will know soon.
UPDATE: Baby also announced his own new album called Ms Glayds, dropping in June.
UPDATE 2: Birdman has announced the release date for both projects. RG2 drops July 1st and Ms Gladys releases a week before that on June 24th.
UPDATE 3: Birdman has confirmed in an interview with XXL that both Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan will appear on the RG2 album. When asked about their involvement, Baby said:
“Yea, they definitely will be. Thug is my little bro and I f*ck with Quan too. I’m going to always make sure they’re a part of this.”
