Kanye, J. Cole, Big Sean, Future Mourn XXXtentacion’s Death

 

Rapper XXXTentacion’s death has certainly sent shock waves through the music industry. He was shot by unnamed gunmen outside RIVA Motorsports store in Deerfield Beach, Florida around 4 pm on Monday. XXX, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, was taken to hospital but pronounced dead shortly after.

The motive of the shooting is still unclear but Broward Co. Sheriff’s office believes it could be related to robbery. At least one of the suspects fired a gun and struck the rapper before fleeing in a dark-colored S.U.V. As the news of his unfortunate passing came through, many celebrities, including fellow rappers, took to social media to react.

Kanye West paid homage to the ‘Look at Me!’ hitmaker, saying ” I never told you how much you inspired me when you were here thank you for existing.” J. Cole remembered the talented 20 year old: “This got me f*cked up. RIP X,” he tweeted. “Enormous talent and limitless potential and a strong desire to be a better person. God bless his family, friends and fans.”

The rapper’s last album ? debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200. Kendrick Lamar was an artist who stood up for him after Spotify decided to stop including his music in playlists as part of their new hateful policy. It was later rolled back after Kendrick threatened to pull his music from the service over it.
