The announcement of the The Lion King: The Gift album certainly came as a surprise last week as there was no hint about it prior to that. The album of course is in addition to the original soundtrack for the highly anticipated film, a remake of the iconic original.
Beyonce is executive producing the film and bringing together a lot of African artists to truly represent the culture. The Gift features multiple new songs from the mogul, featuring collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Childish Gambino and more. Tierra Whack, 07 Shake and Burna Boy also appear in addition to Hov and Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter who contributes to the song called ‘Brown Skin Girl’ alongside St. Jhn and Wizkid.
