Young Thug has just released his latest album So Much Fun last week which set to debut on number 1 of Billboard 200 with sales of 125-150k. But he has more new music coming for the fans.
In his cover story with FADER released today (and conducted back in July), Thugger revealed that he will be releasing another new album titled Punk “within two months.” That means it could arrive as soon as next month. He said about the project: “it’s most definitely touching music. It’s music that the world is going to embrace. Punk means brave, not self centered, conscious. Very, very neglected, very misunderstood. Very patient, very authentic.”
Through the album, the Atlanta rapper said he wants to bring back “real rap” and then explained his definition of the term. “[Real rap is] letting people in, letting people know what you go through. Let them know that you the same,” he says. “I just want to open up. Let people know that I’m not just a rapper, I’m a human being. Let people know whatever they go through, I done been through or somebody done been through it. Those are the things that make people grow. People that want to commit suicide, you might give them another chance.”
This is of course not the first time that Thug would be releasing multiple projects in a year. In 2015, he put out Slime Season, Slime Season 2 and Barter 6 while 2016 saw the release of I’m Up, Slime Season 3 and Jeffery. Even in 2017, he dropped Beautiful Thugger Girls and Super Slimey with Future.
