Lil Nas X Says ‘Montero’ Will Be Taken Off Streaming Services Tomorrow

Lil Nas X says that his hit single ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ will be removed from streaming services tomorrow (April 14). He did not state why that was happening.

“Since call me by your name is no longer working on many streaming services i will be uploading the audio to pornhub at 3pm est,” he first wrote. Pornhub even replied to him, saying “we aim to please – honored to help you stream.”

When some fans started to hit him assuming that the rapper-singer was joking, he reiterated that he was actually serious about it. “Not even joking. everybody stream call me by your name hard today because it may no longer be available tomorrow and there’s nothing i can really do about it. thanks for all the support tho!” he said.

Some fans then started to post their screenshots on Twitter showing how they were unable to play the controversial single on both Spotify and Apple Music. At the time of publication of this article, the song is playable for us on Spotify, Apple Music and TIDAL.

Nas X followed it up with another tweet where he encouraged fans to screen record the song from YouTube so they can listen to the song when they want. “everybody screen record the audio/video on youtube so you will have the song in your gallery worst case scenario,” he said.

‘Montero’ was #1 on the global Billboard charts this week and amassed over 7 million streams worldwide on Spotify, topping the chart there as well. The track and its video have been controversial as ‘Montero’ saw him go to hell and dance on the lap of Satan, upsetting a section of listeners.
