Meek Mill Calls out Record Label; Says He Hasn’t Been Paid

Meek Mill isn’t happy with his label situation.

In a now deleted tweet, the Philly rapper blasted his record label and claimed that he hasn’t been paid. “i haven’t get paid from music and i don’t know how much money labels make off me!!!!! i need lawyers asap!!!” he wrote. It was deleted soon after but he followed it up with a couple of other tweets which are still up.

“Ask the record label? how much have you spent on me as a artist? then you ask how much have you made off me as a artist?” he continued, implying that he believes the accounting has been off and the company is making money off him without paying the proper share to him. He also threatened to make his contract public to the world.

Meek did not make it clear whether he was referring to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group or Atlantic Records. He has been with Warner/Atlantic and MMG since his first album, Dreams and Nightmares in 2012 but is now managed by Roc nation. There have been rumors earlier this year that he doesn’t have a good relationship with Ross at the moment.

He released his fifth studio album Expensive Pain last month which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 after moving 95k copies in the first week.
