DaBaby and NBA YoungBoy joined forces for a joint album called Better Than You last week, containing 12 songs and featuring no guest appearances.
The album was of course done while NBA YoungBoy continues to face legal trouble and spend his time in house arrest. DaBaby is doing the bit of promotion for the project with his latest stop being an interview with DJ Whoo Kid on SiriusXM.
When asked by the veteran DJ how the project came together, DaBaby said that the Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper is the one who reached out to him to do a project. He then goes on to say that he believes Better Than You is the best joint project since Kanye West and Jay-Z’s classic LP Watch The Throne back in 2011. “When you talk about music and a body of work, ain’t been no collab project that’s f*ckin around with that since probably.. you gotta go back to Watch The Throne, Jay-Z & Kanye type sh*t,” he said.
Watch the clip above. Better Than You is expected to move around 30k copies in the first week. DaBaby also made a stop on The Breakfast Club on Monday — watch the interview below.
