Quavo will be performing a tribute to Takeoff at the upcoming 2023 GRAMMY Awards.
The Recording Academy announced today that the rapper and the Maverick City Music choir will perform ‘Without You‘ during the In Memoriam segment. The song was released in its studio version earlier this month.
“Tears rolling down my eyes / Can’t tell you how many times I cried,” Quavo sings on the track. “Days ain’t the same without you / I don’t know if I’m the same without you.”
The song is produced by Murda Beatz, Mike Dean and Zaytoven. The GRAMMYs take place this Sunday, February 5, at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.
On November 1, Takeoff, whose true name is Kirsnik Khari Ball, was shot and died at a Houston bowling alley. Patrick Xavier Clark was detained as a suspect in the murder case the following month. Now freed on bail, Clark is scheduled to show up in court in March.
