Diddy Releases Video Statement Apologizing Over 2016 Video Assaulting Cassie

Diddy has surprisingly released a video statement to apologize for assaulting Cassie.

A 2016 surveillance video was obtained by CNN and released earlier this week that showed Sean “Diddy” Combs grab, shove, drag and kick his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura during an altercation at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

The video matched part of the allegations in a now-settled federal lawsuit filed by Cassie in November. The footage, compiled from multiple camera angles dated March 5, 2016, clearly showed the rapper-mogul assault his then girlfriend which sent shockwaves in the industry and beyond.

In the video statement, Diddy said he’s truly sorry for his actions which occurred during dark times in his life and that he sought therapy right after.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office issued a statement Friday on the 2016 surveillance video.

“We are aware of the video that has been circulating online allegedly depicting Sean Combs assaulting a young woman in Los Angeles. We find the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch,” the statement read.
