Shooting Outside Drake’s Toronto Home Leaves Security Guard Badly Injured

Drake’s massive home in Toronto is at center of an investigation following a shooting late last night.

The shooting took place outside Drake’s house just after 2 a.m., according to City News and CBC News. Toronto Police confirmed the incident in post on Twitter Tuesday morning. The entrance to the property on Park Lane Circle in the ritzy Bridle Path neighborhood was taped off by officers early Tuesday.

The general location revealed by police was the nearby corner of Bayview and Lawrence avenues. Police haven’t commented further on the case at this point but did say that a man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and a suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim was not Drake but a security guard, CBC reports citing a police source.

They further report that the initial call suggested the victim was a security guard at the home who appears to have been shot in a drive-by attack. He suffered a gunshot wound to the upper chest and was unconscious when officers arrived. He underwent emergency surgery at the hospital.

Drake has been involved in an intense rap battle with Kendrick Lamar over the last few weeks.
