What’s going on HHNM readers? Hope your holiday season is treating you nicely thus far. I want to thank all of the artists who continuously submit their newest material to me — I promise it’s not getting overlooked. For today, I’d like to shine the light on Atlanta’s own group Cool Amerika and Baltimore native D. King, who both delivered excellent videos.
Because of how much great material we’ve received lately, starting next week, our Saturday Spotlight series will begin to feature more than 2 artists per post, to further help those deserving upcomers. We do this for you guys.
Hit the jump to see today’s spotlights!
Cool Amerika
First up is a very talented group from Atlanta known as Cool Amerika with their hot new track ‘Shooters’, produced by Hollywood Beatz. Todd Uno directed an awesome cut where the Cool Amerika clique let us know they’re chock-full of shooters, and it’s better not to mess with them. This trap-inspired song has the HHNM staff bouncing around the room today, rightfully so. Be sure to download their new mixtape #NoTaxes where this banger lives. These guys have the passion and energy to take it to the top — you heard it here first.
D. King
Baltimore’s hip hop scene is on a tear lately and I seem to find more and more artists attracting my attention. Today I’d like to shine the light on D. King, a hardworking emcee with passion beyond belief. He has for us today an in depth music video titled ‘Define Myself’, which based on a true story, shows us what happens when a day of playing hooky goes south. Might as well call this a short film. His upcoming EP So Crazy: Touché is due out early next year as well. Stay tuned because this guy’s got a bright future ahead of him.
