What’s going on HHNMers? It’s Saturday, which means we’re back today with a brand new edition of our Saturday Spotlight series. Today we’ll hear from some talented artists including SIR E.U, Cashflow and K.eYe.D who all bring the heat on this Saturday afternoon. The best part about upcomers is the energy and hunger they entail, and these 3 cats are no exception. Enjoy!
Remember: We take submissions for this series. Please see guidelines here.
SIR E.U
Reigning from DC, first up is the talented and uniquely different artist SIR E.U who brings along a trippy set of visuals for his latest single ‘Nike Boy.’ Giving us a completely different vibe than we’re used to hearing from today’s artists, E.U proves his originality is something to be pleased with. Check out the ‘Nike Boy’ video above.
Cashflow
As he preps his Cash Is King mixtape for release later this year, New York’s own Cashflow makes things rather clear about where he is from: Harlem, New York. Choosing Nas’ classic instrumental for ‘NY State Of Mind’ as the backdrop, Cashflow advises us not to forget his neighborhood’s gritty history on his new single ‘Harlem State Of Mind’. Watch the flashy, New York-esque video above.
K.eYe.D
Virginia’s own K.eYe.D, or KiD, or something like that, drops off a very intriguing video for his Thelonious Martin-produced single ‘Ain’t People.’ The slow-tempo, Odd Future-like track and video shows the intellectuality that K.eYe.D has, which is lacking in today’s hip-hop. Roll one up to this and watch K.eYe.D’s captivating video for ‘Ain’t People’ above.
