It’s no secret that Flying Lotus and Kendrick Lamar have a lot of recorded music together. Since that’s the case, a lot of music never sees the light of day, including Flying Lotus’ You’re Dead album cut “Eyes Above.” The original version was supposed to feature Kendrick and for undisclosed reasons, got pulled from the official version. But, Lotus has been doing fans justice by spinning Kendrick’s verse at recent shows and today we have footage of this graceful gesture.
Hit the jump to hear Kendrick’s unreleased verse on “Eyes Above” and let us know what you think. We’ve also included the lyrics courtesy of RapGenius.
Lyrics courtesy of RapGenius:
I should just break out the answers and hope that humanity handles it
This is no radio flip, this is me taking your food
This is you bullied at school, give up your jacket and shoes
This how I practice the rules
This is what happen when dudes
Like Flying Lotus notice the genius that wrote it is rude
DJ’s promote it, I diagnosed it with viruses too
Microphones open and blood is running inside of Pro Tools
How can I dodge on these fools?
I could collide a kaleidoscope with the stars and the moon
The moment I’m morphin’ my mood, these are the gorgeous-est of tunes
Police report it then try to sort it with criminal views
This is intentional view
Start a fire my dragon, fire shots when you wrestling
AK over the dash and I vacate with the Jurassics
The jungle the wicked masses the sabertooth aiming tooth
On my breath is the look of death that’s an an antique Mercedes coup
Yes, buffalo soldiers at war
You shot fast but that ain’t the final score
Buffalo soldiers at war
You shot fast but that ain’t the final score
