Good afternoon, readers. This weekend we’re back with another edition of the Saturday Spotlight series, the first of February 2016. Below you can check out music from Chris Cassius, Golde, Chise, Black Mag and Mir Fontane. Enjoy!
Remember: We take submissions for this series. Please see guidelines here.
Chris Cassius
Our first pick this week is rapper Chris Cassius who hails from none other than Baltimore. He recently released an EP titled 6brix but is still coming through with new material consistently. Below you can stream a cut called ‘Johnny Cage’ which is produced by Reem Unknown.
GOLDe
Next up is 24 year old Eric Mobley who is better known as GOLDe who has worked with huge names like Steve Harvey, Tamar Braxton and Timbaland. He’s currently gearing up to release The Warm Up under AwesomLife Entertainment and he shares with his first single ‘Thottie Pippen’. Listen below.
Chise
Next up is Staten Island’s Chise who returns from a brief hiatus with a brand new EP titled Rich This Year. He has quite a story to tell, with his dad going through chemo, his music spreading and being unemployed all as pivotal parts of the tale. Below you can stream it in full.
Black Mag
Black Mag is from the city of LA and has in the studio recording for months now. He comes through with one of the results of all his hard work, his new song ‘Berth’ on which he channels his inner athlete. It’s short but sweet. You can check it out for yourself below.
Mir Fontane
Last but not least is Camden’s Mir Fontane who teams up with Newark rapper Tsu Surf and vocalist Kam DeLa Coopsta VII for ‘Ride Or Die’. It sees the artists reminisce on their rough upbringing whilst giving an old school vibe with the Zach Capner and Monstarr Beatz production. Stream below.
