saturday spotlight final

The music has been coming from mainstream artists at a rapid rate as of late but there’s always room for some fresh up and comers in your playlist. On this week’s Saturday Spotlight, we present Teezy, Shawn Bandz, D. Yelv, D. King and Mr. Mince. Enjoy!

Remember: We take submissions for this series. Please see guidelines here.

Teezy

First up this week is Teezy who delivers a visual for a record titled ‘Luh Baby’. He stands at just 4 feet tall but don’t let his height fool you, opening up for Chris Brown in his hometown of New Orleans is no small feat. Check out the video below and if you like what you see, stay tuned for a visual with Fetty Wap and Monty.

Shawn Bandz

Our second pick for the SS this week is Shawn Bandz who currently has three projects in the stash with Sleep Deprivation, BandzUP 2 and a new EP. To start his campaign, he releases the Tha Monsta-produced ‘Werk’ on which he brags about having girls in different area codes. Listen below.

D. Yelv

The next artist up this week is Baltimore rapper D. Yelv who is currently preparing to release Cal Ripken, an EP set to drop during the Spring. His new offering ‘Never Could Be’ which is produced by Omito could be the perfect theme music for your Valentines Day. Take a listen to it below.

D. King

The second to last pick this week is another rapper from Baltimore, D. King. He raises the bar with his new single ‘Bad’ and gets the baddest b*tch Trina to add a verse. His forthcoming album Trapman On Campus will also feature Snoop Dogg and Pusha T. Listen to the smooth record below.

Mr Mince

Last but not least is Mr Mince who is also known as Jeremy Mincey. If you’re a Dallas Cowboy fan, you might recognise him as their 32 year old defensive end. He’s trying to take on the music industry now and has a good chance at cutting through with his catchy single ‘Just Work’. Check it out below.
