Another Saturday on HHNM means another Saturday Spotlight where we showcase some artists who have caught our eye. This week we present Jaeson Green, Cris Streetz, Joella DeVille, Phizzals and Kane. Enjoy!
Remember: We take submissions for this series. Please see guidelines here.
Jaeson Green
Our first pick of the week is Jaeson Green who hails from Dallas, Texas. To close out 2015, Green released A.P.O.M.E., a 10 track project which keeps on giving because now, he decides to release a video from it. It’s for ‘For A Rack’ and is directed by Stack Moses. Check it out below.
Cris Streetz
Next up is New York MC Cris Streetz. He delivers a UNT mix (Us Nvr Them remix) to Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s ‘Real Friends’ from The Life Of Pablo. On it, he details the struggle of people who only stick around for the success and the snakes in the grass. Listen to it below.
Joella DeVille
Third this weekend is Joella DeVille. At a first glance, her new single ‘Ease The Pain’ is all about the feel good sound but behind Masorix’s up-beat production are some intricate lyrics. The song will live on her forthcoming Just A Sip EP. Feel the vibes below.
Phizzals
Our penultimate pick for the SS this week is Baltimore spitter Phizzals. He makes a return with the Blasian Beats-produced ‘On The Regular’ which sounds like it has some good potential to be a big Summer record for him. Turn your volume up and click play on the anthem below.
Kane
Last but not least is Kane who is from Richmond, Virginia. He’s currently prepping the release of a new EP and to build some anticipation for it, releases a new single titled ‘No More Pain’. It’s a dedication to 2Pac’s ‘Pain’ and even samples the song. You can feel the pain in the lyrics. Watch below and stay tuned for the project.
