Kendrick Lamar’s ‘HUMBLE.’ Hits Number 1 on Billboard Hot 100; ‘DNA’ Debuts Inside Top 5

Kendrick Lamar is having a wild run right now. Critics are hailing his new album DAMN., fans have it on repeat and this week, it sold 603k copies thereby achieving the highest first week number of 2017. It surpassed Drake’s 505k for More Life by nearly 100k.

DAMN. has done well on both streaming and sales front, moving 353k copies in traditional sales. But that’s not it — his singles are blowing up as well. ‘HUMBLE’ has moved from number 3 to number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week, dethroning Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ and earning the Compton rapper his first solo topper.

The follow up song ‘DNA’ which received a video treatment last week, has also debuted at number 4 on the chart. K.Dot therefore has two songs inside top 5 on the current Billboard Hot 100. Not bad for someone who’s rapping his a*s off on non-Pop beats. Kendrick has picked ‘LOYALTY.’ has the next radio single from DAMN. which has been serviced to radio stations across America.
