We’ve officially made it through the first quarter of 2017. Also, it’s April Fool’s Day. Don’t worry, I won’t be pulling any pranks with the music posted this week. The artists I have selected all bring something great to the table whether it’s their lyrics, their video, or just an overall fun vibe. Let’s get to it and don’t forget, we take submissions for this weekly feature. Learn more about the submission process here.
Willis
I love seeing creative music videos making a comeback. Everyone loves Game of Thrones and it’s sometimes the only thing my co-workers at my last job talked about (I’ve never watched an episode). Indianapolis, IN artist Willis uses his passion for the show as inspiration for the music video to his “Stories Of Old” record. The song reflects Willis’ personality, the shy type that will geek out when asked to talk about something he loves.
Noah Wright
The feeling of love can make you create some of your best art. With its eclectic production from Mantra, “Best In The World” showcases what love has done for Phoenix, AZ’s Noah Wright. He uses punchlines to convey his feelings before singing and letting his real emotions spill out for his love interest.
Al Maralen
Going to college and working a 9-5 made Maryland artist Al Maralen discover himself. Maralen had become a person he didn’t recognize and decided to break away from this image. “Everything Is Everything” features bouncy production from Jay 808 as Al puts this one out for the outcasts who don’t feel comfortable being themselves.
