Rihanna is going to play Smurfette in the upcoming Smurfs movie, Variety reports.
The superstar made an appearance at Las Vegaas’ CinemaCon today to make the announcement herself. It marks the second time she’ll be working on a DreamWorks production, following 2015’s Home where she played Tip. This movie will reportedly explore identity and what it actually means to be a smurf. Smurfette has always been a protagonist in the comics and for a long time, she was the only female smurf.
It’s set to hit theatres on Valentines Day of 2015, so perhaps both of her children will be able to enjoy it too. If you missed it, check out the singer’s performance of ‘Lift Me Up’ at the Oscars last month here.
