Russ has been going at it relentlessly to promote his latest independent album W!LD, and it is finally here. From touring non stop and promising fans his most vulnerable self in the form of undeniable artistry, the project is now out for the world to experience. Well, what’s the verdict?
The 19-track LP certainly ticks the boxes of authentic vulnerability and navigating a whole emotional spectrum, which in turn takes the listener on a journey that fuses the emotional Russ we know so well with the hungry lyricist. He is still trying to prove his pen at every instance, all while acknowledging the simplicity of raw emotion.
This is precisely the vibe that was created by Russ’ lead singles for the album (‘Movin‘ and ‘April 7‘), which has been followed up on in a rather strong fashion. The artwork too, is a caricatured as a nod to Russ’ breakout project, There Really Is A Wolf.
