LL Cool J left many of us disappointing when he released a new song called ‘Ratchet‘ which came with an announcement that his next album is titled Authentic Hip Hop. Apart from the fact that the title was nothing “authentic”, especially coming from a legend like Cool James, the song was itself shallow.
LL turns things around with the second taste off his forthcoming CD, a collaboration with two veterans — singer Joe and production duo The Trackmasters. He gave the green light to a few radio stations this week to play the song and here it is in CD quality. This is more like it!

I actually think Ratchet is a well written and funny song. It could use a little better production but it’s a fun teaser joint.

This is how a Legend gets down. The beat was sexy, Joe sounded sultry & of course LL sounded as good as he did when he blasted in the rap scene almost 30yrs ago!!!!!!
This is the LL we know about. I hope he drops the Ratchet track from the Album because that is sub standard. Hoping L keeps it nice with real hip hop like Take it. Would love to see him colab with Marley Marl again, track masters, and most definitely DJ Premier. Pity J Dilla is not around anymore. Now that would be real hip hop!
