Fetty Wap is having a dream run. After scoring three top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘My Way’, ‘Trap Queen’ and ‘679’, the young artist from Paterson, New Jersey has achieved a number 1 album with his debut itself.
The self titled album which was released through RGF/300 Entertainment last week, sold a respectable 129,000 (75,000 pure album sales) copies.
With this, Fetty Wap becomes the first Hip-Hop act in over two years to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their debut album. The last to do so was A$AP Rocky opened at number 1 with Long.Live.A$AP (138k).
Drake and Future’s What A Time To Be Alive dipped 72% in sales this week, achieving 107k copies in its second week but managing to hold the number 2 position on the chart.
