Grammy-winning singer/bassist Thundercat has been teasing the release of his new album Drunk for quite some time now.
Today, the L.A. based artist has unveiled the official artwork as well as the track list for Drunk, which hits stores February 24th via Brainfeeder. The album will have high profile guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell and Wiz Khalifa.
Thundercat has also shared the first single from the album, ‘Show You The Way’ featuring Michael McDonald & Kenny Loggins, which can be streamed below. The album can be pre-ordered here.
Says the artist about the title of the album:
“I’ve always tried to hold true to what Erykah Badu and Flying Lotus told me: It has to come from an honest place. I feel like it’s a place that I’ve been in different ways, seen different angles of and it’s been a bit inspirational – the drinking. It has its ups and downs and everything, but I felt like it showed the human side of what goes on behind things, something that I see with all of my friends… I felt like it was kind of interweaved in the music culture. And it’s something that’s never talked about.”
