Troy Ave has always been a controversial figure in Hip-Hop which came even more under the scanner after the Irving Plaza shooting during a T.I. concert back in 2016.
In a recent music video for ‘2 Legit 2 Quit‘, the New York rapper alluded to allegedly testifying against Taxstone on the stand which raised a lot of eyebrows from Hip-Hop fans and the legal fraternity. Hip-Hop podcaster Taxstone is currently in jail on a second degree murder charge in the death of Ronald McPhatter aka Banga, Troy’s bodyguard. If Troy stands against Tax, will that count as snitching? Troy appeared on the Breakfast Club this morning to talk about all of that and much more.
Troy starts to get into the issue around the 11 minute mark. Troy says the “street cred” factor isn’t relevant anymore in the culture because there are too many people pushing agendas. Troy says he cannot speak on some stuff due to legal reasons but all he’s trying to do is stay real to himself and make sure that false allegations are not leveled against him by media and social media influencers.
